1. What do you like about blogging?
Blogging allows me to share my thoughts and most importantly I am able to reflect on what I have learned. Besides that, blogging also encourage me to become a better writer and language user.

2. What you do not like about blogging?

For me, there is nothing wrong with blogging. The only thing that bothers me is the internet connection. Sometimes, editing my blog will take hours due to poor internet connection.

3. What have you gained from blogging e.g. Language skills, improved fluency, critical thinking, improved thought processes, technology skills etc. How?

I have never blog before, so this is a new experience for me. I have learned new technology skill which is setting up my own blog and maintaining the blog with the latest information, inserting videos, photos and text. It also develops my language skill as blog is viewed publicly, thus language error is not an option. Besides that, being able to reflect on what I have learned allows me to expand my critical thinking and improve thinking process. Blogging also encourages me to become better writer and also reader. In order to become a good writer, you have to be a greater reader. Good bloggers are those who read a lot and do a lot of research before publishing their ideas and hence reading are definitely an advantage or byproduct of blogging.

Happy Ending (14th week)

Finally, I was at the last week of the course. Well, it was a good end after all. The end of this course did not mean the end of me being a resourceful future teacher. I would still be bringing the knowledge that I learnt in this course throughout my life, applying it in my future teaching. In today’s lesson, Pn. Foziah reminded us on our Module 5 tasks and the dateline for it. Pn. Foziah was very kind in considering our hardship and willingly extended the dateline so that we could concentrate on our tests and examination revision. Moving back to today’s lesson, Pn. Foziah advised us to study well for our coming test and reminded us repeatedly that all that we learnt would be useful in future. Hence, we had to always apply this theory of being resourceful in finding suitable materials for class teaching. It was indeed a very good advice. All in all, it was a successful lesson at the end as I had gained many experience throughout this course. This was some experience that we could hardly forget as it was something memorable that we would put in our mind and apply it in our teaching next time.

bye bye...

Practice make perfect (13th week)

Week 13 of the resources class. Without wasting any time, let’s look into the major events of the day. Ok, this week we have submitted 4 things which are:

1) Module 2
2) Individual work (task 1)
3) Pair work (task 2-eBook)
4) Group work (lesson plans)

Talking about the tasks, it was a good exercise to practice what we have learned in the module. I personally learned a lot about photo editing while doing the tasks rather than doing the module itself. Although software such as photoshop was very difficult for me, later I managed to learn it and I applied it in editing pictures for my tasks. I am really happy that now I have learned and able to use various software to edit photos.

Now let's move on to the next agenda. Currently

we are working on the module 4 which is the video editing. This module is another good instrument as we can learn about video editing by using software such as Cyberlink power director, Cyberlink powerDVD, Windows movie maker, HJ-split and many more. It is really fun working on this module because now I am able to make and edit my own videos.

As we all know, each module comes with some tasks. The same goes to module 4. Pn. Foziah asked us to create a story board for the task 2 which is the pair work before the class itself. Pn. Foziah checked the story board and gave some comments on how to improve it. As for me and my partner, we choose the topic ‘humanity’ and we are still working on it. Hopefully I can apply the skills that I have learned from the module in creating the video.

That’s all for this week’s entry. Bye...

E-Book (12th week)

This week we had been given a surprise by Puan Foziah. The surprise was we were given additional things for module 2 which is about Adobe photoshop CS3. What a day,but still I need to complete it. Actually this week was our 12th week already. I still remember my 1st day in UM, then now I almost complete my whole semester here. But, don’t get too comfortable, we still have many things to do. For this week, Puan Foziah had showed us what E-Book is. She explains to us her E-Book which not very interesting (about family), maybe because the e-book was done long time ago and the technology was limited. For us, we need to create a good and interesting e-book and she reminded us to to chose good quality pictures to insert the navigation keys, to insert sound and to have a theme, characterization and plot

Essentially, the exact definition of e-book is An electronic book (also e-book, ebook, digital book) is a text and image-based publication in digital form produced on, published by, and readable on computers or other digital devices." Sometimes the equivalent of a conventional printed book, e-books can also be born digital. The Oxford Dictionary of English defines the e-book as "an electronic version of a printed book," but e-books can and do exist without any printed equivalent. E-books are usually read on dedicated hardware devices known as e-Readerse-book devices. Personal computers and some cell phones can also be used to read e-books. or

That all for this week, bubye.

Picassa Picasso? (11th week)

Have you ever heard about Picasa? Yes? No?. As for me myself, I never heard about Picasa before. The only word that close to picasa I ever heard was picasso, the artist. So when first heard the word picasa I thought about leornado da vinci.haha. actually picassa is a kind of online picture album. We can upload our picture there but first we need to have picasa’s account. Picasa is a free digital photo organizer and editor which has improved considerably since its first release. Although I expect better organization and search capabilities from a Google product, Picasa is excellent for beginners and casual digital shooters who want to find all their pictures, sort them into albums, do quick edits, and share with friends and family. Folks with very large photo collections and advanced editing needs should look elsewhere. Picasa 3.5 no longer bears the "beta" designation, adds excellent people recognition technology, and improves the geotagging, import, and keyword tagging features.

Pros

  • Picasa is free and runs on Windows, Macintosh, and Linux.
• Provides good red-eye removal, quick fixes and effects, and online sharing options.
  • Editing info is stored in INI files, making all edits reversible without saving multiple versions.
  • Designed for non-techies and casual digital photographers.
  • Offers excellent people recognition technology.

Cons

  • Tied to your computer's folder-based system of organization.
  • Limited organization and search capabilities.
  • Only 1 GB of free online storage falls short of the competition.
  • Litters your computer's folders with Picasa.ini files.

Besides picasa, we were also been introduced to the Photobucket. Photobucket is the premier destination for uploading, sharing, linking and finding photos, videos and graphics. Host all your photos and videos for free, then share them by email or on social sites like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Search for videos and photos in Photobucket's huge library. Edit your uploaded photos with our feature-rich photo editor. Make slideshows to share with friends. Plus, access your albums on your mobile using the mobile site or one of our smart phone apps.
